Scarlet
Performance & Installation
2023

I confided my grievances of love to a cow, until the ice on the backdrop completely melted, stained in scarlet.
What I sought to portray was the hidden peril of violence in intimate relationships—the situation where I receive violent mistreatment after each time I bare my soul to my partner. Building a connection with this cattle through narration, as the conversation delved deeper, the ice gradually melted. This process was a metaphorical "breaking the ice," mirroring how women, as emotions intensify, gradually let down their guard and open their hearts.
Subsequently, the water from the melted ice slowly saturated the backdrop with scarlet dye.
This color, traditionally associated with rage in the common perception of cattle, symbolized the tears of women, the accumulation of emotions, and hinted at the insidious incursion of potential violent triggers.

Why does vulnerability become the target of strength?
Why does genuine love always yield to misunderstanding?
Why is scarlet the least visible color?
